For me centaurs are one of the strangest mythological creatures ever. (I mean...a human upper body instead of a horse-head? wtf?!)
But anyway, I like them. So I did this quick size comparison just for fun.
Please note: this is just how I proportion centaurs, it's not meant to be a universal thing and you don't have to agree with me on their height or anything XD

This is about how I see centaurs when I draw them - a smoothly-proportioned melding of horse and human, so the horse-half is smaller and the humanoid upper body is a bit grander in size.
